When it comes to the G spot, bigger is preferable

Some women should be helped by medications like Viagra, especially if they have a large G spot. This location is renowned for creating magnificent orgasms, and it turns out that the enzymes that these medications operate on are rife there.

Ernest Gräfenberg first used the name “G spot” in 1950 to describe a region a few centimeters up inside the vagina on the side closest to a woman’s stomach (see below). Here, the Skene’s glands, which are the female prostate gland, are buried beneath the skin.

The watery part of semen is made by the prostate in men. Skene’s glands are also known to secrete a liquid in females, which could account for female “ejaculation.” During sexual stimulation, blood builds up in the tissue that surrounds these glands, including the portion of the clitoris that extends up within the vagina. Additionally, there is some evidence that the orgasm produced by the local nerves is distinct from the one brought on by clitoral stimulation.

The existence of the G slot is still up for discussion, though. According to Beverly Whipple, a neurophysiologist who co-wrote a book about the G spot in the 1980s, “Not everyone has recognized this yet.” In order to find biochemical indicators of sexual function in the region where the G spot is supposed to be, Emmanuele Jannini of the University of Aquila in Italy and his team made this decision. The enzyme PDE5, which eats away the nitric oxide that causes erections, was chosen. PDE5 blockade is how Viagra functions.

Nitric oxide activity in the clitoris had previously been observed by researchers, but PDE5 enzymes hadn’t been specifically searched for or were unknown to exist in the clitoris. We haven’t fully understood the female anatomy until recently, which is absurd but true, claims Jannini.

A logical impossibility

He will discuss his findings in Adult Urology. He discovered PDE5 in the vagina of five volunteers. 14 cadaver dissections showed that the G spot was where the majority of the enzymes were concentrated. But he was unable to locate any Skene’s glands in two of the participants who had considerably lower levels of PDE5. A vaginal orgasm is anatomically impossible for such women, he claims.

Whipple and others believe that although the glands were too small to be seen, they may have existed. Even yet, a “G-spot orgasm” should be uncommon due to the area’s tiny size.

The results show that women with large Skene’s glands and lots of PDE5, who will be most affected by Viagra and related medications like tadalafil and vardenafil, scheduled to go on sale in a few months, should have these characteristics. Women’s Viagra trials have so far shown a variety of outcomes. According to some studies, this may be the case because the women studied had too many different sexual issues, ranging from inability to experience orgasm to complete lack of interest in sex. According to Jannini’s research, a woman’s anatomy might also be important.

Well concealed

“The lack of a framework demonstrating the biochemical processes governing the female sexual response has hampered research in women using these drugs,” says Helen O’Connell of the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia, who demonstrated in 1998 that the clitoris is much larger than previously believed. “It’s fantastic for women that knowledge of clitoral and vaginal structure and function is growing.”

So how can you determine whether you have a G spot? Sadly, no visual examination can determine whether or not a woman has Skene’s glands because they are so completely concealed by the surrounding tissue. The only thing that works is personal experience.

However, Viagra-like medications may still have some impact even in those with a minor G spot or none at all because PDE5 is also present in the clitoris. And additional medications that activate arousal in the brain may soon be made available. However, Jannini and Whipple concur that because the female orgasm is so complex, not everyone will be helped by just using medications.
